Students Prepare Hundreds of Holiday Stockings for Foster Youth

Hundreds of holiday stockings stuffed with goodies for foster children and teens await their final destination to foster children in Southern California. Students at Port View Preparatory® School have assembled the stockings with care over the past few weeks. Port View Preparatory® caters to the unique needs of K-22 students with developmental disabilities in Orange, Los Angeles and San Bernardino Counties.
“Our students are very enthusiastic about sharing the good will of the season and demonstrating a care for others,” according to Port View Co-Founder and Principal Dr. Edward Miguel. “This is our first year preparing the stockings and it has fast become a very popular holiday tradition at the school.”
The stockings will be distributed to foster children and youth at an annual foster family holiday party slated for Wednesday, December 7 in Vista. The event is sponsored by Green Oak Ranch, Straight from the Heart, Health and Human Services Agency, and the North County Assessment Center.
