Specialized Academic Instruction Customized for Your Child
Port View Preparatory® School offers Specialized Academic Instruction (SAI). SAI is a service provided to students with special needs who qualify for special education. It’s a comprehensive offering that includes numerous services for students depending on their unique diagnosis and needs, including:
Pencil

1. Consultation & Monitoring

between parents/guardians and Port View Preparatory® staff, along with teachers and therapists to provide the best instructional and therapeutic support for each student. Each student’s progress is carefully monitored with regularly scheduled appointments, progress reports, and ongoing communication between educators and service providers and parents/guardians.

2. Individualized Support

for students who need additional guidance or assistance with assignments and information presented in class. This also includes pulling students out of class to get special one-on-one or small group instruction on an as needed or ongoing basis.

3. Collaborative Teaching

to encourage knowing and understanding each student – from the classroom to individual therapy sessions. Our team works closely to ensure the best possible education and instruction for each student. This is one area Port View Preparatory® takes extraordinary pride in and delivers on this promise daily.

Because students with complex special needs have various areas that require individual services and therapies including cognitive, emotional, physiological, and social needs, Port View Preparatory® addresses each area to provide each student with the individual care and instruction needed to reach their fullest potential. Port View Preparatory® takes pride in ensuring all therapies are evidence-based and of the highest quality. We provide an abundance of therapies and interventions designed to bring out the best in our students, both in the classroom and beyond.

By collaboratively analyzing each student’s Individualized Education Plan (IEP,) our therapists identify the most effective and positive ways to help improve areas of deficiency in a focused and gentle manner, always communicating areas for improvement and achievement with parents and caregivers. We place high priority on communicating and collaborating with internal staff and parents on the progress of each one of our students. We also request that parents and caregivers be an extension of that open communication model and relay any issues or concerns that may be occurring at home since behaviors, both positive and negative, tend to spill over into school. This allows us to not only support and celebrate our students on campus, but in their homes as well!

Specialized Academic Instruction means each student will be understood as a whole individual and every area of development is prioritized.
